My Projects

Groups & ensembles

Gàbor Barta Trio : "My Jazz creations"

Improvisation has always been my passion, and for me, jazz represents freedom in music.

Here are my 2 albums of original jazz compositions, with my piano-bass-drums trio.

Duo BazArt :
"From Vienne to Buenos Aires"

With violinist, singer and composer Eleonore Salamin-Giroud, in this nostalgic and creative duo, we explore vintage café music, tangos, folk pieces from Eastern Europe and own compositions for 2 violins, voice, violin & piano, or violin & accordion.

Duo Cellier & Barta
"Pure improvisation"

The astonishing artistic union of two passionate improvisers is expressed here in an almost infinite combination of instruments and sounds. Both multi-instrumentalists and composers, Alexandre and I share a deep passion for improvisation, folk songs and ethnic music from all over the world. You can only guess how the concert will end.

Duo Barta & Zappa : "Friendship & music"

A friendship reaching back to my childhood in Ticino. With Mattia our lives have crossed and uncrossed in many ways, as have our artistic paths. Countless collaborations since our student days have consolidated a mutual artistic trust that is out of the ordinary. Composing for Mattia is for me a source of inspiration and a guarantee of success. The same goes for the pleasure of playing Bach together, or simply improvising a blues.

Les Manouches du Lac

Back to the "classic" of the old gypsy jazz from the early 1930s, a style of music born in Europe thanks to a unique legend: Django Reinhardt!

With my friends Daniel Spörri, Lucian Caceres, Jonann Roduit and Baptiste Bieri and their friends, we love to explore these old songs, looking for the nostalgic improvisation from that era.

"The Bartet" :
A family business

Performing music with our 3 children has always been a special and precious moment for me and my wife Veronica.

In this ensemble, all styles and all ideas are welcome. There's a special joy in sharing as a family that can't be put into words and can't be replaced by any other music ensemble.

Film music... improvised!

A secret passion has led me to the extraordinary field of old silent films: a magnificent  challenge to illustrate musically the emotions in a feature-length auteur film of that period.
